A new monthly small group workshop that explores a variety of Qigong exercises taken from Cheng Jie's studies with a number of teachers, including the Five Immortals Temple in Wudang, China.
Each workshop includes:
Gentle movements to relax mind and body
Qigong exercises and movements
Benefits of Qigong and how it fits into Chinese Medical Theory
Zhang Zhuang (standing pillar) exercises - breaking down the Qigong movements to explore internal relationships in the body and how they can be improved.
Cheng Jie will take time to work with everyone individually, as each person may benefit from slight variations of the movements and postures.
Suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience. Qigong can done seated or standing.
What is Qigong?
Gong translates into skill acquired by doing lots of work. Qi, which is often incompletely translated to energy or life force, can be better described as relationship and the connection between various aspects. This would include various parts of the body as well as the external relationship we may encounter.
