with Justin Iles
Join us for an afternoon of mindfulness practice aimed at reducing stress levels and all the negative consequences they bring along such as headaches and fatigue. Learning to ‘be’ in the world with more ease, joy and vitality.
Guided by mindfulness teacher Justin Illes, this two and a half hour 'mini retreat' will begin with some gentle mindful movement designed to ease tension in the neck and shoulders.
Then there will be instructions and guided practice of walking meditation and open awareness sitting meditation.
Open awareness meditation is the practice of observing the flow of our thoughts, emotions and physical sensations. This leads to more space and objectivity towards our experience of the world, which in turn can lead to a sense of peace, equanimity and a general ok-ness with the way things are.
At the end of the session, there will be time for Q and A along with some helpful tips on how to integrate these practices into your life.
Each participant will also receive a disc of guided meditations to take home.
This afternoon is suitable for all levels of experience, although the instructions will be aimed at beginners.
There are chairs available for anyone who finds sitting on a cushion or stool uncomfortable. The guided movement can also be done seated if needed.
