with Ann-Marie Marshall
We are delighted to be introducing a weekly pilates class to our timetable and invite you to come to our free meet the teacher class, with pilates teacher Ann-Marie Marshall.
Ann-Marie trained at Lewisham College and specialised in dance, mainly ballet, jazz, contemporary, choreography and Pilates. She went on to work internationally as a dancer spending much of her time in mainland Europe and as far away as Japan.
At the age of 26, Ann-Marie retired from dance and moved into the fitness industry teaching Pilates, aerobics, spinning and spent many years working as a personal trainer before focusing more on the discipline of Pilates.
At Lewisham College she studied Pilates under Heather Sampson and Miranda Bass. After joining the fitness industry she also trained with Rachel Holmes in Nottingham.
Joseph Pilates method has been around since the 1930's, it is a unique form of body conditioning. Ann-Marie highlights the importance and benefits of focusing on performing one precise movement rather than doing many half hearted ones. Pilates needs intense focus, the way the exercise is performed is more important than the exercise itself.
Ann-Marie's classes are open to all levels of experience. If you suffer with back problems, shoulder injuries, hip or knee worries these exercises can always be adapted to suit each participant.
This first session is free, but places are limited, so please book online to secure your place.
