with Dr Don & Carol Harradine
This workshop is the first of its kind in the UK. Its teachings are based on the principles derived from Silat Tua a traditional martial art from Malaysia. The art covers all aspects from healing, general health, esoteric and self-defence. At the core of the art is Ilmu Parian: the ancient knowledge of the dance of life.
The workshop will also explore:
Meditation techniques unique to the practice of Ilmu Parian.
Breathing exercises associated with the natural elements and their health benefits, particularly stress and anxiety.
The link between the elements and our senses and understanding our environment.
How the elements assist us with our emotional states and the situations life offers.
Suitable for any level of experience, fitness or age. The exercises and activities are created from nature to enable the participant to work within what is natural for them.
Participants will be able to take away a set of skills useful for their daily lives that they can develop further by self-exploration or further training.
We have a saying in Silat Tua, “We learn from the outside to the inside and then from the inside to the outside”.
The dance of life enables you to develop and grow!
The hosts for the workshop are Dr Don and Carol Harradine. They have been practitioners and teachers of Silat Tua, Taiji, Qigong and other internal arts for nearly thirty years. Don has studied in the UK, Malaysia and China and is one of the few non Malaysians who have undertaken and passed the traditional tests in Silat Tua and other Silat traditions.
