Our energies in the early part of the calendar year are predominantly Yin in nature; quiet, reflective, docile. A Yin yoga practice is the perfect opportunity to yield to this.
Floor-based poses are held for between two and five minutes, and so each one becomes an individual hibernation, giving us the time to watch, rest and recharge. In holding our postures for time, we release long-held tension from the body and leave Qi, or prana, free to flow around the body.
This evening is designed to help find ease and freedom of movement in the body, calmness in the mind.
